One of Beth’s most memorable accomplishments during her time at Laurel House has been the opening of Laurel House’s Safe Haven Center. For years, Laurel House had wanted to move the shelter out of the existing building in Norristown so we underwent a Capital Campaign to raise funds for a new shelter location. Then in 2019, Laurel House purchased a building in Lansdale and started the arduous process of renovation. Construction continued throughout the pandemic and while many people were sheltering at home, Beth was on-site helping to manage the project. Then in June of 2022, Laurel House opened the doors to the new Safe Haven Center in a brand new 9,000 square foot building. The Safe Haven Center expanded the existing shelter space for victims of domestic violence and included counseling, crisis response advocates, and legal advocacy all on-site for shelter and community clients.
