Beginning her career as a secretary at a day program for battered women, Beth has never wavered from her commitment and drive to help domestic abuse victims.

Prior to her work with Laurel House, Beth was the Director of Residential Services for Project HOME. In 1999, Beth and her family moved to this region after having lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for over 26 years. During her time in the Bay Area, Beth held a variety of human service positions. She was first employed as a secretary in a day program for battered women. Later, after completing her undergraduate degree, she worked as a Case Manager for families whose children had disabilities and later assumed a Supervisory position in the same agency. Beth also served as the Executive Director for the San Leandro Shelter for Women and Children and was instrumental in helping that organization develop into a multi-service agency for low income, and/or battered, women and their families.

Most of Beth’s professional work has been with families, and often with single female heads of household. She is committed to helping women develop the confidence and self-sufficiency, as well as the connections and opportunities, needed to succeed at home and in the workplace.
