Teen Dating Violence

Teen dating violence affects teens/ tweens in every community.

1 in 3 students will experience physical, sexual, emotional, or verbal abuse by a dating partner before they graduate high school. Unfortunately, we know that most people will not tell anyone about the abuse—only 33% of teens in an unhealthy relationship will tell someone. (www.loveisrespect.org)

If you, or someone you know may be in an unhealthy relationship, help is out there! The National Teen Dating Abuse Helpline is a 24-Hour hotline created specifically for teens and young adults. Text “loveis” to 22522 or visit www.loveisrespect.org.

Laurel House seeks to address the issue of teen dating violence through our Healthy Relationships Programs. Contact our Community Education department today to have one of our educators come out to speak with your teens. You may send your request to education@laurel-house.org or call (610) 277-1860 ext. 121.
